Version 3.10.0 of PURE offers new and improved features and a number of fixed entries from Mantis; our online feature requests and issue reporting tool for PURE. A Mantis request always mean that users have requested the feature.
This release do not contain any FedEx features.
Total citations are now made visible on the show tab if the module "Bibliometry" is available.
Reports about publications previously suffered a little bit in performance. This has been fixed, and publication analysis and - although to a smaller extend - publication text extraction has been made faster, particularly when grouping on authors.
Person analysis and text extraction now offers the option of grouping by job position.
A new report format called Job position format has been added. It is a short, minimalist format that focuses on persons' job positions.
Empty groups are can now be removed when running reports. All text extraction reports and analysis now includes a "Remove empty results" option (checkbox). When checked, all groups without results according to the report's criteria are removed.
The built-in display formats "Standard" and "Extended" now simplifies the start- and stop-dates to not showing the year if the report's time interval is only one year and of the start- and stop-dates are both within this year.
Publication text extraction reports can now be sorted by type.
Option to group reports by the organisational hierarchy. Chosen organisations are included with all sub-adjacent organisations, when this grouping option is chosen.
Page break before top-level report-groupings - this new option makes a page break possible before the report's main elements begin.
New standard reports has been added for Danish organisations only in reply to Danish authorities' request for enhanced national reporting; the so-called research indicator project in Denmark: Journals and publishers are now harvested from the Danish ministry's services, but can still be created directly from within the relevant editors. New features for handling duplicates in this situation have been built in, and the same is true for handling journals and publishers with insufficient data. Each of these new reports can be customized just as all other standard reports, and as usual for PURE, new reports can of course be made from scratch. This is a good example of how national assessment can be support directly from within PURE. Similar support is available for the RAE/REF in the UK, the SEP/KEP in Holland, etc.
As part of the Danish research indicator project the concept of a "Main area" has been implemented in PURE. Main areas are shown for publications on the "Show" tab and are included in the data, which is exhibited by PURE for harvesting by the Danish authorities in relation to the research indicator project. Main areas are by default a classification on organisations, but it can also be added and determined on Person objects. The main area for a publication is determined by first looking at the first-author and then by considering his or her organisational belonging until a main area is found. Data is exhibited by PURE by means of a OAI-PMH based OAI data providing client, which together with the similar OAI harvesting client comes as standard in PURE.
Integration to the Danish national researcher database (DNFD), which is the Danish DAI-project.
In addition to the above functions, the following Mantis requests and other errors has been accommodated:
Lack of sorting by title when sorting publications by first author and period (report)
