Atira is looking to employ a new product consultant. The new consultant will work with research institutions in replying to their requests for information about Pure and in preparing Pure implementation projects. The new position is focused at pre-project activities including meetings with institutions, production of detailed quotations and contracts, and administration of procurement processes. The new position does not include project execution and management.
Educational background: Candidates will most likely have a technically oriented college or university degree or other relevant technical education but could also have a degree in communications or administration. Other types and levels of education are also welcome but must be comparatively relevant.
Professional background and experience: Candidates must have relevant experience. It can be within research administration or management at a university or a similar type of institution, it can be industry background (e.g. software, data, or services for higher education institutions or related authorities), or it can be other experience with similar relevance for the position.
Personal skills: The preference to be around people is key. Important factors are a good-humoured nature, a high level of energy, honesty, and some attention to detail.
Candidates do not need to be experts in the field of research administration, but to achieve that over time will be a goal. Learning about the product and its domain is therefore part of the job, and a keen interest and ability to continuously do that is a success factor.
Also a success factor is the ability to communicate with heterogeneous groups of university stakeholders with very different backgrounds, priorities, and agendas, and still make information about Pure and the use and benefits of the system available in a clear and visible way.
Language requirements are German and English spoken and in writing, where German is the first language.
Organisational placement: Our new colleague will be member of our Communications Team, and will together with our Product Director form a small informally managed unit, which maintains high knowledge about Pure and about research management at the strategic and tactical levels of universities and other research institutions.
Place of work: A local base in Germany or the Benelux area. Frequent meetings in Atira's main office in Aalborg, Denmark.
Equal opportunity: We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, religion, and other personal attributes and preferences. Evaluation and final appointment will be based on qualifications alone.
Environment: We require all members of staff to act environmentally responsible in all aspects of working for Atira in compliance with our company's environmental policy and where common sense demands it.
Founded in 2002, Atira has excellent financial history and equally excellent current financial standing. For more information about Atira A/S, please see http://www.atira.dk/en/about/.

Professional background and experience: Candidates must have relevant experience and good skills within Java and the frameworks mentioned above. Besides this we expect candidates to have experience with SQL and XML.
Personal skills: Developers have direct customer contact, both with technical staff and managers, and the ability to undertake such communication is important. We take pride in understanding and solving customer's questions and issues, and good communication skills in English are therefore required, written as well as spoken. Similar German communication skills are a plus.
