Version 3.9.0 of PURE offers new and improved features and a number of fixed entries from Mantis; our online feature requests and issue reporting tool for PURE. A Mantis request always mean that users have requested the feature.
A number of FedEx features have been implemented in PURE, originating from the last FedEx day, which was April 25 this year:
Detailed markup of field differences at re-validation has been added. Re-validating a piece of content - e.g. a publication - means that it is opened for modifications, which will make it go through the original workflow again. The new feature makes it easier for the people in the original workflow to see the changes and make a decision about them.
Publication meta-data descriptions has been extended on PUREportal in order to give better results on the internet search machines like Google.
Web service monitoring has been added, making it possible for admins to monitor the use of PURE's web services.
When adding authors to a publication, the user will now remain on the actual tab from which the author is added and no longer automatically be sent to the main tab. Mantis 5574.
Default role added to handle tasks on behalf of other users. Mantis 5477.
The simple search option has been extended with a default option for searching by publishing year. Mantis 5442.
The description of "other" publication is now printed in standard- and author display formats as well as in the full display. Mantis 5418.
Extraction of an organizations' employees and the number of press clippings per individual (sorted by the number of press clippings). Mantis 5391.
New option for adding a number of links instead of only one. Mantis 5128.
Sorting of activities after type in reports' extraction of text, lists in the back end, lists in PUREportal and in the Document/Literal web service (e.g. "activityTypeIndex" or "startYear"). Mantis 5109.
Option for exporting lists of users by their roles. Mantis 4929.
Option for searching for "Current" employment status in all relevant search-operations. Mantis 4926.
Show all editors for an organisation on the organisational editor's show-tab. Mantis 4907.
A field for adding a free-text description to a full-text document. Today, the concept of a full-text document in PURE covers both text documents, images, sound, video, etc. When such files are exhibited online, different labels were needed depending on the file type; e.g. "listen to the sound file", "watch the video", etc. This request has now been accommodated. Mantis 4175.
New standard report for extracting texts from press clippings. Under the reporting category called "Lists", a report named "Press clippings" is now available for all PURE users.
It is now possible to sort modified analysis' lowest grouping by analysis-results - e.g. sorting of languages by the number of publications. This is true if a maximum of one grouping is chosen, or if the chosen grouping-setup will lead to one grouping. However, the use of more than one grouping in this situation is supported, but only when showing results in list form.
Persons can now be harvested from PURE's OAI data provider in the oai_dc and ddf-mxd formats.
The "content" element of rendered content now has attributes for select meta-data such as a publication's "publicationType", "publicationCategory", "id", etc. This has been made for the following content types: Activities, Persons, Events, Projects, Organisations, and Publications.
More than one keyword compilation in the same result (the Document/Literal web service). All web service methods that previously could return one keyword compilation can now return any number in the same result.
The Document/Literal web service now has a "countPersonsByKeywords" method, which makes it possible to request the persons that are attached to selected keywords. It is also available over the REST web service interface.
It is now possible to sort by "publicationYear" using the REST and Document/Literal web services. Mantis 5893.
The functionality of the student theses module has been extended with new fields and advanced rendering with images and preview-functionality. This new functionality is configured individually at customer level.
When student project or theses are are searched and listed, it is now possible to limit content with one author, which has a "studentid" among other ids.
In addition to this, the following Mantis requests has been accommodated:
